Versiti is a fusion of donors, scientific curiosity, and precision medicine that recognize the gifts of blood and life are precious. We are home to the world-renowned Blood Research Institute, we enable life saving gifts from our donors, and provide the science behind the medicine through our diagnostic laboratories. Versiti brings together outstanding minds with unparalleled experience in transfusion medicine, transplantation, stem cells and cellular therapies, oncology and genomics, diagnostic lab services, and medical and scientific expertise. This combination of skill and knowledge results in improved patient outcomes, higher quality services and reduced cost of care for hospitals, blood centers, hospital systems, research and educational institutions, and other health care providers. As a blood bank, it can be difficult to reach different groups while constantly looking out for untapped donor pools. We aimed to create brand awareness and recruit a diverse group of blood donors.
Foureva Media created a podcast series to celebrate diversity and increase blood donations. Through branding and a targeted strategy, we produced and distributed a podcasting campaign to build a new community of donors.
Versiti wants to solve a diversity challenge amongst blood donors. To do so, Foureva Media will create a podcast with guests who want to help communicate a need for blood donations among the black and brown communities. The podcast will act as a beacon to other people, to inspire and encourage them to donate. At times the podcast will be thought provoking, but in full essence, the message will be motivating, inspiring, and will convey black and brown communities as a source of light. We want to celebrate race and how unique blood type is central to survival, and recognize the special uniqueness that is the black and brown community.
Content will complement the following statistic from the Versiti Conference Information: “Blood that closely matches that of a patient is less likely to be rejected by the patient and can mean fewer complications after a transfusion. 44% of African Americans have a special blood type called Ro. In many cases, patients experience the best outcomes when they receive blood donations from individuals of similar ethnic backgrounds.”
STAND OUT FROM THE INSIDE presented by versiti™ is a podcast where—we recognize community with light, uniqueness, and identity. Edgar Daggett will talk with individuals to celebrate ethnicity and blood type — it is part of our survival. Because within our communities, we have attributes that we give and serve in our community. This is a fresh podcast that will give voice to diversity and inspiration.
