Former Green Bay Packers player Jarrett Bush has made headlines again, this time for opening his own salon. The Blo Blow Dry Bar, located in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, will be Bush's latest business venture. The salon, which emphasizes diversity and inclusivity, will be the first of its kind in the state.
Bush is a former Super Bowl champion and played for the Green Bay Packers for nine years. He has now transitioned from the football field to the beauty industry, with plans to open his own salon. The Blo Blow Dry Bar franchise has over 140 locations across the United States and Canada, with the new salon in Ashwaubenon being the first in Wisconsin.
According to Bush, the inspiration for the salon came from his daughters, who have thicker and coarser hair. He wanted to create a space where people of all backgrounds could feel welcome and find stylists who are skilled in working with diverse hair types.
"I think sometimes there’s a limited amount of people who have that skill set, and so I just want to bring a little more talent to the city of Green Bay that can do all types of hair," Bush said.
The salon's CEO, Vanessa Yakobson, emphasized the company's commitment to training their staff in servicing guests with different hair types and using products suitable for different hair types. Blo Blow Dry Bar also prides itself on its convenience, with a standard service time of 45 minutes from start to finish.
The salon is set to open by December of this year, just ahead of playoffs. Bush is currently looking to hire stylists to join the team.
It's worth noting that Bush has worked with Foureva Media in the past and was a featured speaker at the Lead the Movement Business Conference at the Fiserv Forum. The community is happy for his success and impact, especially in the realm of diversity and inclusivity. It's great to see athletes using their platform to create positive change in various industries.
